Emote contacted us about helping them develop and improve their current avatar models for a PC based social networking software.
After discussing their requirements, we went ahead and started building photo realistic characters to a PS3 /XBox 360 standard. These models would need diffuse, specular and normal maps, all at 2k resolution.
Two templates were needed, one male and one female, to build all their variations off.
Once the base meshes were built, we helped to create a workflow to enable Emote to build variation in a flexible manner. This system would then allow its users to customise their avatars to closely resemble their own likeness.
