House of the Dead: Overkill
Client: Sega / Headstrong
Headstrong Games had just started production on House of the Dead: Overkill when we were invited by Sega to come in and look at the art direction. The style wasn’t quite working in Sega’s mind and they felt that the game needed a different direction.
Working with both Sega and Headstrong producers, we explored a ‘Grindhouse’ theme for the art direction styling. To achieve this look we had to spend time reworking the character models and environments.
We assisted Headstrong by integrating a ZBrush pipeline for the character creation process and produced target renders for the environment set design.
We were able to help further by remodelling key game characters - Agent G, Washington, Zombie Surgeons, The Fury and the Carnival Boss.
We also helped with UI design and renders for the promotional material.
